The Line: See the Latest Odds

The PGA Championship is this week and there’s plenty of chances to make some big time money. Of course, we’re always looking at the big money opportunities with these golf articles, so while Rory McIlroy enters as the overwhelming favorite, the books can keep him. Although he did kill our chance to cash in big considering I had Sergio Garcia last week as one of my dark horses.

Anyway, here are some golfers you should include on this week’s card.

2014 PGA Championship: PGA Odds, Pick, Predictions, Dark Horses - 8/7/14

Justin Rose – It’s fair to say Justin Rose is having possibly the best season of his career, as he already has two wins under his belt in the Quicken Loans National and Scottish Open. Rose also has an incredible five Top 12 finishes since The Masters, which includes finishing tied for fourth in last week’s WGC-Bridgestone. Rose has been in top form for quite some time and is first on tour when it comes to eagles (holes per). Rose did finish third in the 2012 PGA Championship and has to have his eyes set on the prize this time around. I love the fact we’re getting odds of +1800 here.

Rickie Fowler - Rickie Fowler is one of those players who performs his best when the lights are most bright. Fowler has finished in the Top 5 in all three majors this season and has finished in the Top 10 in four of his last six major appearances. That type of consistency in big events makes odds of +2000 extremely hard to pass up. Also, it’s not like Fowler has been terrible outside of majors this season, as he’s racked up three straight Top 10 finishes overall and nine Top 25 finishes. Hopefully oddmakers keep sleeping on guys as solid as Fowler has been this season.

Sergio Garcia – We just missed hitting the homerun last week with Sergio Garcia, as he had odds of +2500. He’s worth another look here. Garcia is playing the best golf of his life and has finished tied for second in three straight events. How can you argue with that? Overall, Garcia has three Top 2 finishes this season in 12 played events and eight Top 10 finishes. Simply put, Garcia gives you a great chance to at least make things interesting in the last day of the tournament. That makes odds of +1800 well worth the risk.
