The Line: See the Latest Odds

The Northern Trust Open will take place this Thursday, so let’s look at some of the dark horses who have a chance to create a sweet payday.

Bubba Watson - Usually the favorite to win an event is -800 or sometimes even lower. With Bubba Watson, you can get odds of up to +1200, which makes him the favorite along with Dustin Johnson. Watson won this event last season with an impressive -15, which was the best performance at Riviera Country Club since 2010. Watson has only played in three PGA events this season but has finished in the Top 10 all three times, and that includes a second place finish at the Phoenix Open. Bubba Watson is first on tour in total driving and second in birdie average. No player has gotten off to a better start than Watson and with those odds, it’s impossible not to put something down.

2015 Northern Trust Open: PGA Odds, Pick, Predictions, Dark Horses - 2/19/15

Arizona Republic

Sergio Garcia - We’re getting a rested up Sergio Garcia with odds of +3000. Uh, yes please. Garcia makes his PGA Tour debut this week after not participating since early November of last year. Garcia has had a few strong performances at the Northern Trust Open, which includes a fourth-place finish back in 2012. Unfortunately, 2012 was the last time Garcia has won a PGA event, but he usually finds himself in the mix late and that’s really all you can ask for from somebody who is getting odds this large. Sergio Garcia has had 17 Top 10 finishes since 2013 and should give you a run for your money this time around considering he’s been building momentum on this course the last few years.

Bill Haas - Bill Haas is another longshot to consider with odds of +3800. Haas won the Northern Trust Open back in 2012 with a score of -7 and took the lead heading into the last day in 2013. Needless to say, Haas has been fairly successful on this course and is clearly one of those players who enjoys playing in his home state. Haas has also gotten off to a fast start this season which includes a victory in the Humana Challenge. Last year, Haas didn’t even a single victory. Given his history on this course, you have to throw some coin his way.
