The Toronto Blue Jays and the Oakland A’s meet on Saturday for game two of their series in Toronto.
The Toronto Blue Jays fell behind early on Friday and while they never gave up they they never could catch the A’s losing game one of the series. Jose Bautista had three hits including a hoem run, Maicer Izturis had two hits, and Colby Rasmus hit a home run as the Blue Jays scored six runs on 11 hits. Starting pitcher Esmil Rogers was shelled allowing seven hits and seven runs while last ing just three innings to take the loss and fall to 3-7 on the year. For Saturday’s game Toronto starts Mark Buehrle who has won his last two decisions. For the season Buehrle has allowed 153 hits and 71 earned runs while striking out 97 over 145 innings for a 7-7 record and a 4.41 ERA.

The Oakland A’s jumped all over the Blue Jays early on Friday and never took their foot off of the gas as they put up big numbers getting the win. Jed Lowrie had four hits including a home run, Josh Reddick had three hits including a home run, Coco Crisp had three hits, and Yoenis Cespedes hit a home run as the A’s scored 14 runs on 17 hits. Starting pitcher Jarrod Parker had little to worry about as he allowed six hits and three runs and struck out six over 6.0 innings to ride the huge run support to the win and raised his record to 8-6 on the season. For Saturday’s game the A’s start Sonny Gray who has seen action in two games allowing two hits and striking out six over 4.0 innings.
Toronto is 3-8 in their last 11 home games, 0-10 in their last 10 home games against a team with a winning record, and 6-1 in Buehrle’s last seven home starts. Oakland is 8-3 against the AL East, 2-6 in their last eight games, and 1-6 in their last seven games as a road underdog. Oakland is 6-2 in their last eight games in Toronto.
This is a tough one because the A’s have been the better team this season but the Jays are coming off of a decent effort out West and Buehrle has been solid at home and despite the A’s beat down on Friday I am going to take the Blue Jays here in what is a mild lean at best.
