The Milwaukee Brewers take to the road to meet the Texas Rangers in an interleague bout.
It isn't a mystery that Milwaukee is out of the National League Central race as inconsistency has taken a toll in a very unforgiving division. The past few weeks have seen the Brew Crew hit the ball with authority or struggle, while the pitching has been competitive. This past weekend was a perfect example of inconsistency with Milwaukee out scoring Seattle 20-5 in winning the first two games before dropping the finale' 2-0. Of course, facing Felix Hernandez had something to do with that as the bats mustered just five hits and struck out ten times. A great effort from Wily Peralta went by the wayside as his complete game effort saw him allow a solo homer and sacrifice fly. Marco Estrada will be on the bump to face the big bats of the Rangers Tuesday. Estrada is hoping to duplicate his 6-1 victory at San Francisco when he tossed a one hit shut out over five frames.

It seems as if Texas and Oakland are going to be butting heads the remainder of 2013 for the top spot in the American League West. The Rangers own that distinction right now but my gut tells me these teams will be jockeying for position the entire second half going forward. Monday's 2-1 victory over Houston gave the white hot Rangers wins in ten of eleven and maintained their position in the standings. The hitting and pitching have been outstanding in this stretch but this was all Yu Darvish who tossed a one hitter which happened to be a solo homer in the 8th. The offense knocked out nine hits and walked twice but scored two times in the first on RBI hits from Adrian Beltre and AJ Pierzynski. The Rangers give Tuesday's start against Milwaukee to Alexi Ogando who has struggled to go deep in to games since coming off the disabled list. Ogando has made four starts which totaled 18.2 innings.
I think Texas had better be on guard here because Ogando isn't at the top of his game. If I bet this, it wouldn't be huge...
