The White Sox won on Alejandro De Aza's single. Avisail Garcia, who scored, drove in the few runs for Chicago and then came around to score on second baseman Omar Infante's throwing error. The Sox trailed 1-0 early following Infante's top-of-the-first RBI-single.
Rick Porcello (8-6, 4.32 ERA) pitches next for Detroit trying to get his fifth win in a roaw after two no-decisions. Both no-decisions however were one-run affairs including the Tigers nearly beating the New York Yankees in the Bronx going down 4-3. Porcello allowed three runs during five frames. Porcello's last away victory was splendid going seven scorless innings at Chicago.
The White Sox went down 6-2 as well as two weeks earlier to Porcello 8-5 despite driving in three runs during six frames in Detroit. Porcello is 4-4 however on the road beginning the year 1-3 surrendering 15 runs during 12 innings in defeats. Chicago is 48-of-189 with 18 RBIs, five of them Paul Konerko's, against Porcello.
The Sox meanwhile go with John Danks (2-9, 4.52 ERA) who is riding a four-game losing streak. Danks hasn't won since July 2 stifling the Baltimore Orioles for seven innings of two-run baseball. At U.S. Cellular Field since the Atlanta Braves, Minnesota Twins and Tigers smoked in 14 runs during 20 frames, two Danks defeats. Detroit has seen Danks twice, both coming after mid-July. The Tigers dispatched Danks 6-2 and 3-0 landing in nine runs during 14 innings.
Going seven frames apiece versus Detroit is nothing to smirk at. However if Chicago unable to score more than two runs the Tigers are going to be victorious. Detroit is 69-of-250 with 35 RBIs, nine Torii Hunter's, against Danks for what it's worth. The White Sox will have their fair share of scoring problems Wednesday to allow the Tigers a crack at victory.
