The Miami Marlins and the Los Angeles Dodgers face off on Wednesday for game three of their series in Miami.
The Miami Marlins knocked off the Dodgers on Monday but they weren’t as fortunate on Tuesday losing in a tough battle. On Tuesday Giancarlo Stanton had three hits, Logan Morrison had two hits, and Jeff Mathis had two hits as the Marlins scored four runs on 10 hits. Starting pitcher Jacob Turner allowed 10 hits and four runs, three earned over 5.0 innings to not factor in the decision as Dan Jennings took the loss to fall to 2-4 on the season. For Wednesday’s game the Marlins start Nathan Eovaldi who has lost his last three decisions. For the season Eovaldi has allowed 56 hits and 28 earned runs while striking out 44 over 63.2 innings for a 2-3 record and a 3.96 ERA.

The Los Angeles Dodgers had lost their last two games but on Tuesday they put an end to the losing beating the Marlins. Yasiel Puig hit a home run, Adrian Gonzalez had three hits, and Carl Crawford, Mark Ellis, and Andre Eithier were among those with two hits as the Dodgers scored six runs on 16 hits. Starting pitcher Chris Capuano allowed six hits and three runs over five innings to not factor in the decision as Chris Withrow got the win and Kenley Jansen earned his 20th save. For Wednesday’s game the Dodgers start Zack Greinke who has won his last three starts. For the season Greinke has allowed 115 hits and 42 earned runs while striking out 96 over 125 innings for a 11-3 record and a 3.02 ERA.
Miami is 15-38 in game three of a series, 7-4 in their last 11 home games against a team with a winning record, and 3-7 in Eovaldi’s last 10 home starts. Los Angeles is 11-2 against the NL East, 21-6 as a favorite, and 6-0 in Greinke’s last six road starts.
Greinke has been red hot as have been the Dodgers and just not things I want to be on the other side of right now.
