The Arizona Diamondbacks visit the City of Brotherly Love to face the Philadelphia Phillies.
If you are a fan of the Diamondbacks, time is beginning to get short for your team with each loss seeing the Wild Card get further and further out of away. With the National League West out of reach the WC is Arizona's lone chance of making the postseason and that goal took a shot in Friday's 4-3 defeat. Wade Miley tossed a winnable game with three runs given up over six frames before Heath Bell took the loss with a run plated in the bottom of the 9th. The offense posted seven hits and a free pass, with Martin Prado leading the way with a two run double. The Diamondbacks pin their hopes in game two versus Philadelphia on Randall Delgado. Delgado is looking to bounce back from a 5-3 loss at Cincinnati where he gave up all five runs on seven hits and three BB in six frames.

As a Philadelphia fan I am wondering where this team has been all season after the Phils scored their third consecutive walk off victory and their fifth win in six games. I like to see them win even though the season is over from a competitive stand point, although I can't help but think they will go back to their losing ways soon. The work on the mound was solid with Cole Hamels giving up all three innings on six hits and a base on balls through seven frames. The bats totaled ten hits and mustered four walks, with Darin Ruf clubbing home run number ten, while Carlos Ruiz knocked in two and Chase Utley drew a base loaded walk for the win in the 9th. The Phillies send rookie Ethan Martin to the bump to face visiting Arizona on Saturday afternoon. Martin is coming in off a 5-4 victory over Colorado in which he allowed two runs on four hits and a pair of walks in six innings.
I am waiting for Philadelphia to come back to earth and hoping they don't. Arizona is the better team but I am backing my team who is some how getting the job done...
