The Kansas City Royals look to sweep the Minnesota Twins in Minneapolis on Thursday after posting an 8-1 victory during Game Two.
KC crushed Minnesota courtesy of a 13-5 edge in hits as well as two Twins errors. The Royals rolled in runs via Alex Gordon's and Salvador Perez's home runs early on. Kansas City then let down their hair during the eighth and ninth innings with two Billy Butler RBI-singles, another Perez HR and a Perez double-play grounder. The Royals finally conceded a run during the final frame thanks to Justin Morneau going deep with one out.

Samuel Deduno (8-7, 3.6 ERA) gets the nod next for Minnesota, seeking his second win after three 5-2 losses in a row. The Chicago White Sox, Cleveland Indians and New York Yankees beat Deduno in his last three decisions at Target Field by scoring 13 runs, 12 earned, during 17 innings.
Also at Target, the Detroit Tigers, KC and Milwaukee Brewers fell to Deduno, who allowed four runs during 21 frames. The Royals also lost 3-0 in Kansas City to Deduno June 4. However, the Royals beat Deduno 5-2 Aug. 7, pounding in four runs during 5.2 innings. KC is 25-of-89 with six RBIs against Deduno, two from Lorenzo Cain and Alcides Escobar'.
The Royals return with Bruce Chen (5-2, 2.88 ERA), who is in danger of his third straight defeat. At Detroit and against the Washington Nationals, Chen conceded 13 runs during nine frames his last two starts. At the Houston Astros and Philadelphia Phillies, Chen surrendered zero runs apiece during an inning each to win 7-3 and 13-4.
Kansas City is 7-5 when Chen takes the hill. The Twins were blanked 3-0 Aug. 10 by the Royals, who got three frames from Chen. On June 4, though, Minnesota was victorious 3-0, despite Chen yielding zero runs during 3.2 innings. At the end of June, Chen tossed one out and didn't see in a run, although he did give up two hits and one walk to the Twins, who are 24-of-89 with 13 RBIs, six from Josh Willingham. KC edges Minnesota.
