The Los Angeles Angels continue their climb back to .500 at the Milwaukee Brewers this weekend. Game One is Friday.
LA took two of three games at the Tampa Bay Rays, previously concluding with a 2-0 series win Thursday. The Angels outhit TB 6-3, but Luis Jimenez did have an error. Los Angeles got a strong start from Jason Vargas (8-5, 3.54 ERA), who battled Jake Odorizzi (0-1, 5.09 ERA) for five innings.

Jimenez made up for his boneheaded play earlier with an RBI-single during the top of the second. Later during the sixth, Kole Calhoun singled in J.B Shuck to make it 2-0 Angels.
Milwaukee dumped the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-0 in a rubber match later on Thursday. The Brewers buried Pittsburgh due in part to two Pirates errors. Yovani Gallardo (10-9, 4.39 ERA) was the key reason, yielding six hits, one walk and zero runs during seven frames. Milwaukee scored via Jonathan Lucroy's RBI-single and sacrifice fly, along with Khris Davis' RBI-double and Aramis Ramirez's home run.
Wily Peralta (8-13, 4.51 ERA) hustles out to the hill next for the Brewers. Peralta's two Miller Park outings in July were phenonemal, conceding zero runs during 17 innings. Peralta won 2-0 and helped Milwaukee win 1-0. On Aug. 19, though, the Cincinnati Reds shredded Peralta 9-1 at Miller by supplying seven runs during 4.1 frames.
On June 27, too, at Miller Park, the Chicago Cubs smacked Peralta around for five innings of seven-run, three-earned, baseball. Even the Colorado Rockies, Los Angeles Dodgers, Minnesota Twins, Philadelphia Phillies and St. Louis Cardinals trashed Peralta at Miller this year for losses, piling in 25 runs, 24 earned, during 21.1 frames.
The American League LA has never faced Peralta before and calls on Jered Weaver (8-7, 3.46 ERA) for a big game on the road. Weaver is 2-4 in away appearances, twice stifling opponents for road victories in August, surrendering four runs during 15.2 innings. The Baltimore Orioles on June 10, New York Yankees on Aug. 14, Seattle on July 13 and Texas Rangers on April 7 strolled in 22 runs during 21.1 frames to assure Weaver of four losses.
Two Brewers have seen Weaver prior- Yuniesky Betancourt is 13-of-47 with six RBIs and Carlos Gomez is 2-of-8 with no RBIs. Both also have four walks and 10 strikeouts against Weaver, who should be fine on Friday to back for an Angels win.
