The Chicago White Sox are playing out a miserable season as they dropped yet another game to the Indians on Saturday. Josh Phegley had three hits, Conor Gillaspie had two hits, and Alexei Ramirez had a hit as the White Sox scored one run on nine hits. Starting pitcher Andre Rienzo allowed seven hits and five earned runs over 4.0 innings to take the loss. The Cleveland Indians have had no problems with the White Sox this season and they showed that once again on Saturday in an easy win. Asdrubal Cabrera and Lonnie Chisnhall each hit home runs and Carlos Santana had three hits and the Indians scored eight runs on 11 hits. Starting pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez allowed eight hits and a run and struck out eight over 8.1 innings to get the win. For Sunday’s game the Indians start Zach McAllister who I s7-9 with a 4.11 ERA and 0-2 with an 8.78 ERA in his last three starts.
Chicago is 9-20 in their last 29 games as a favorite, 3-14 in their last 17 games, and 5-2 in Sales’ last seven starts. Cleveland is 8-3 in their last 11 games, 1-5 in their last six games as a road underdog, and 5-0 in McAllister’s last five starts against a team with a losing record. Cleveland is 17-5 in the last 22 meetings of these two.
