The San Francisco Giants shoot for another win over the Dodgers on Sunday afternoon.
We haven't seen San Francisco match their play from the last several years in 2013 but they certainly did Saturday in a 19-3 rout of the division leading Dodgers. The Giants haven't hit or pitched as expected and as a result the team is struggling to stay out of the West basement which is a far cry from the World Series. Tim Lincecum threw the ball well with three runs given up on five hits over six frames which was easily a winning effort with the runs flowing. The Giants pounded out 22 hits with Hunter Pence and Brandon Belt going deep and combining for 13 RBI's. San Francisco hands the ball to Ryan Vogelsong who will try to tame the heavy hitting Dodgers. Vogelsong has struggled in consecutive starts with nine runs plated 9.2 innings pitched.

The Dodgers are the kings of the National League West after a huge second half run brough them frome worse to first in the National League West. Having said that Los Angeles has come back to earth a bit and are starting to look like mere mortals. I would say less then mortal Saturday in a rare rout with the team accustomed to handing out punishment rather than receiving it. Ricky Nolasco was charged with seven runs over 1.1 frames with the bull pen unable to do much better with four relievers giving up 12 more runs. Obviously the bats didn't challenge with an eight hit attack with Adrian Gonzalez knocking in two runs while Alex Castellanos clubbed a solo homer. Los Angeles sends Edinson Volquez to the bump to face the suddenly hot San Francisco lineup. Volquez has struggled the majority of 2013 but he has thrown well at times while going 9-11 with a 5.99 ERA.
The first thing that came to mind was the over with the Giants crushing the balls while both hurlers have struggled. I would take a shot at the over and hopefully we don't have a pitcher's dual...
