The Philadelphia Phillies are closing the season strong and they got another win on Monday by beating the Marlins. Chase Utley and Darin Ruf each hit home runs and Jimmy Rollins and Cesar Hernandez ech had two hits as the Phillies scored 12 runs on 14 hits. Starting pitcher Cliff Lee went eight innings allowing weight hits and two runs while striking out 14 getting the win. For Tuesday’s game the Phillies start Roy Halladay who is 3-4 with a 7.28 ERA on the season and 0-0 with a 5.87 ERA in his last three starts.

The Miami Marlins gave up the lead early on Monday on Philadelphia and they never recovered getting clobbered in in Philadelphia. Ed Lucas and Justin Ruggiano each had two hits and Giancarlo Stanton had a hit as the Marlins scored two runs on eight hits. Starting pitcher Sam Dyson lasted just 2.2 innings as he allowed six hits and seven earned runs to take the loss. For Tuesday’s game Miami start Brian Flynn who is 0-1 with a 10.12 ERA for the season allowing 12 hits in 8.0 innings.
Philadelphia is 10-1 in their last 11 games as a favorite, 6-1 in their last seven home games, and 32-15 in Halladay’s last 47 home starts. Miami is 24-60 in their last 84 road games, 7-20 in their last 27 games, and 2-9 against the N.L. East. Miami is 7-22 in their last 29 games in Philadelphia.
The Phillies are a pretty big favorite as they should be as they have been hot of late and if they had been playing this way all along they would be looking a the post season instead they are just going to grab another easy win here.
