The Houston Astros and the Cincinnati Reds meet on Wednesday in Houston as they continue their interleague series.
The Houston Astros never fought back on Tuesday and they were run over by the Cincinnati Reds in MLB action. Jonathan VIllar, Jose ALtuve, and Marc Krause each had hits as the Astros failed to score on five hits. Starting pitcher Jordan Lyles allowed nine hits and nine runs over 3.1 innings to take the loss. For Wednesday’s game the Astros start Herb Peacock who is 5-5 on the season with a 5.25 ERA and 2-1 in his last three starts with a 4.08 ERA.

The Cincinnati Reds had no problems facing the Astros as they are stringing wins together. Jay Bruce hit a home run and Brandon Phillips, Xavier Paul, and Todd Frazier each had two hits as Reds scored 10 time son 12 hits, Starting pitcher Mike Leake allowed five hits and struck out six over 8.0 scoreless innings to get the win. For Wednesday’s game the Reds start Greg Reynolds who is 1-2 on the season with a 5.66 ERA and 1-2 with a 4.74 ERA in his last three starts.
Houston is 23-53 in their last 76 home games, 21-51 in their last 72 games overall, and 4-1 in Peacock’s last four starts. Cincinnati is 4-1 against the A.L. West, 205 in their last seven games as a road favorite, and 3-9 in their last 12 interleague games. Cincinnati is 7-1 in their last eight games in Houston.
Peacock has been solid for Houston but the Reds are free swinging it and when thy play like that they are tough to beat.
