The Kansas City Royals and Chicago White Sox take the field once again in their AL Central tilt.
After being knocked out of the Wild Card conversation with back to back defeats to Seattle, Kansas City has rebounded to win the first games of their series against the White Sox following a 6-1 victory on Friday. Both the bats and arms were strong with starter behind James Shields who gave up the lone run on four hit in seven frames to go 13-9 in 2013. The offense made that a winning effort wit 14 hits Emilio Bonifacio and Billy Butler driving in a pair of runs apiece. Kansas City turns to rookie Yordano Ventura for his third career start against the Red Sox. Ventura has been outstanding in two starts with a run given up in each over 11.1 innings pitched.

The White Sox are not the same team we have come to know over the past few years with several new faces and it hasn't helped in the win column. Chicago suffered their fourth straight defeat and number seven of eleven with their offense and pitching struggling throughout. Chris Sale fell to 11-14 on the year with four runs plated on nine hits over 5.1 frames which doomed a run challenged offense. The bats mustered four hits and walked once with Gordon Beckham providing the offense with a solo jack. The White Sox give rookie right hander Erik Johnson the ball for his fifth straight start. Jonson has won consecutive outings where he has given up just a pair of runs on 13 hits over 12.2 innings.
Tough one to call with a pair of rookie hurlers going at it here. If both are about the same and it comes down to scoring then I'll back the visitors...
