The New York Mets and Milwaukee Brewers continue their series at Citi Field on Saturday.
Too bad Milwaukee hasn't been getting the clutch hitting and pitching we have seen over the past week over the entire season or the National League Central could be a four team race. It hasn't been that way and the Brew Crew have to be satisfied with wins in five of six instead. Yovani Gallardo finished off the season on a positive note with both runs given up on seven hits over six frames to improve to 12-10. The long ball caried the Brewers attack with Norichika Aoki, Khris Davis and Martin Maldonado cracking homers. The Brewers send rookie right hander to the mound for his first career start versus the Mets. Nelson has only three relief appearances under his belt where he has allowed a lone hit over five frames.

After winning five of six the Mets have dropped back to back contests with neither the bats and arms looking strong which has been an off an on problem throughout the season. Friday's defeat looked similar to Thursday's 4-2 loss with starter Carlos Torres keeping the scoreboard under control with three runs given up on four hits through six frames while striking out seven. The bats had several chances to do a little more damage with their eight hit, two walk attack that saw Jacob Turner smack a run scoring single with a sacrifice fly plating the other run. Aaron Harang takes the ball Saturday against the dangerous Brewers attack. Harang hopes to snap a nine game winless streak where he has gone 0-4 with four no decisions where he has posted three quality starts.
The problem in backing Milwaukee is what will we see from Nelson and to a lesser extent, Harang. Probably going out on the limb a bit but I'm staying on the Brewers...
