The Pittsburgh Pirates and Cincinnati Reds finish off the regular season at Great American Ball Park.
The Pirates have wrapped up the Wild Card and the home field advantage buy virtue of back to back victories over the Reds. An 8-3 win on Sunday did the trick as the Buccos outscored their rivals 12-4 in the two games. Pitt has won four of five with fantastic work on the mound sticking out. On Sunday the hot pitching continued with starter Charlie Morton giving up three runs in four frames before five relievers shut down the Reds offense. The Pitt offense was all power baseball with Andrew McCutchen, Marlon Byrd, Pedro Alverez and Andrew Lambo smacking homers while Neil Walker clubbed two. Gerrit Cole takes the ball in the final game of the season looking to end the year on a winning note. Cole has reeled off four consecutive victories where he has allowed four runs over 26 innings.

Cincinnati had their opportunity to grab the home field edge in the Wild Card but instead will just have to be satisfied with making the postseason. The Reds have dropped four straight following Saturday's defeat with their offense in a funk in this stretch which continued Saturday. The Reds needed some scoring with Bronson Arroyo giving up six runs on five home runs through 4.2 innings pitched. The home run barrage was too much for the offense to over come with Jay Bruce driving in two with Brandon Phillips knocking in another. Cincinnati sends Johnny Cueto to the bump to end the year with a win against the visiting Pirates. Cueto has won both of his starts since coming off the diabled list where he has allowed one earned run in 12 innings.
Cumpton might be in for Cole and Reynolds in for Cueto so this has the makings of a pure guess. I say go else where but I lean to the Reds...
