The Line: St. Louis Cardinals +115 / Los Angeles Dodgers -125 --- Over/Under: 6 See the Latest Odds
The NLCS heads back to Busch Stadium with St Louis holding a 3-2 lead over Los Angeles.
The Dodgers survived elimination for at least another day with a 6-4 victory over the Cardinals but still face a 3-2 series deficit. Los Angeles has not received offense throughout the postseason but finally did and needed it with some shaky work out of the pen. That wasn't the case with starter Zack Greinke who gave up a pair or runs on six hits and a walk in seven innings of work before Kenley Jansen allowed a pair of 9th inning runs and left the tying runs on base. The bats came through with a nine hit attack that featured home runs from Carl Crawford, AJ Ellis and Adrian Gonzalez who clubbed a pair of long balls. The Dodgers turn to ace left hander Clayton Kershaw for his second appearance versus the Cardinals in the NLCS. Kershaw dropped a 1-0 decision with an unearned run allowed on two hits over six frames.

St Louis missed out on a golden opportunity to eliminate the Dodgers in game four and get another crack at them Friday in game six on their home turf. The offense hasn't be great and wasn't Wednesday but it was far stronger then the work on the mound. Joe Kelly fell to 1-1 in the NLCS with four runs plated on seven hits with Edward Mujica and John Axford giving up one run apiece. The Redbirds did have their chances with ten hits and a bases on balls with Carlos Beltran tripling in a run with Matt Holliday doubling in another to tie the game in the second. Pete Kozma and Matt Adams singled in a run each in the 9th and two men were stranded with the winning run at the plate. St Louis turns rookie Michael Wacha who won this match up 1-0 and would like nothing better then to duplicate it. Wacha tossed 6.2 scoreless frames with eight strike outs.
This one has all the signs of a 1-0, 2-1 type game and is one of those that might be better to watch then bet but Kershaw might just show why he is one of the best...
