The Cleveland Indians and Oakland Athletics will play game two of a three-game series on Tuesday. The Indians won the opening day matchup on Monday, 2-0.
Justin Masterson pitched a gem for Indians, lasting seven innings and only allowing three hits and one walk. Corey Kluber will see if he can match that performance, as he will start game two for Cleveland. Kluber finished last season with an impressive 11-5 record and a 3.85 ERA. Kluber is a strikeout pitcher, as he has 195 career strikeouts in 214.2 innings. Kluber is 0-2 in his career against the A's, but he has a 2.19 ERA and 11 strikeouts in 12.1 innings pitched.

Sonny Gray went six innings without allowing an earned run, but Oakland’s offense just couldn’t get anything going, striking out seven times and managing just five hits. Scott Kazmir will get the nod in his Athletics debut after pitching for the Cleveland Indians last season and producing a 10-9 record. When healthy, Kazmir is a solid pitcher, the problem is, he hasn’t given a team 30 starts in seven years. Kazmir also hasn’t fared well against his former team, managing a 1-3 record with a 6.13 ERA in his career against the Indians.
The Indians are 13-3 in Klubers last 16 starts and 4-1 in Klubers last 5 road starts. The Athletics are 43-21 in their last 64 home games and 23-9 in their last 32 vs. American League Central. The Indians are 5-2 in the last 7 meetings vs. the A's, but just 9-20 in the last 28 meetings in Oakland.
I'll take the A's in this one. I expect this to be a bounce back year for Kazmir, and the Oakland bats can't be that quiet two days in a row. Giving me the home team, a veteran pitcher and a cheap price, I'll take it all day long.
