The Los Angeles Angels look to build on their momentum and earn a third straight victory over the Houston Astros on Sunday. The Angels won game 2 of four on Saturday, 5-1.
Once again, the Angels batting lineup showed signs of life, banging out 14 hits and scoring three runs in the fifth inning. Josh Hamilton hit his second homerun of the season in the winning effort. With the lineup awake, the Angels have to like their chances in game 3 with veteran Jered Weaver on the mound. Weaver allowed four runs in 6.1 innings in his first start, but he’s 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA in his only career start against the Houston Astros.

The Astros drop to 2-3 on the season as the lineup simply can’t produce any runs. Houston has been held to a combined four runs in its last three games. With the offense struggling, pitcher Scott Feldman has to be lights out like he was in his first start. Feldman picked up the victory when he held the New York Yankees scoreless in 6.2 innings. Feldman is very familiar with the Angels, starting 12 career games against them. In those starts, Feldman is 4-6 with an ERA of 5.31.
The Angels are 1-4 in Weavers last 5 starts following a team loss in their previous game and 49-22 in Weavers last 71 starts. The Astros are 18-59 in their last 77 during game 3 of a series and 15-36 in their last 51 home games. The Angels are 7-3 in the last 10 meetings and 7-1 in the last 8 meetings in Houston.
It's tough to bet against the Angels with the way they're playing in this series. It's like the Angels are finally playing to their potential for once. Look for Weaver to get back on track and for LA to get yet another victory over the Astros.
