The Chicago White Sox and the Cleveland Indians face off on Saturday in Chicago for game three of their series.
The Chicago White Sox have wont he first two games of their series against the Indians including a win on Friday. Adam Eaton, Conor Gillaspie, Adam Dunn, and Alexei Ramirez each had two hits as the White Sox scored nine runs on 11 hits. Starting pitcher Chris Sale allowed six hits and three runs while striking out five over 5.0 innings to get the win and go to 3-0 on the season. For Saturday’s game Chicago starts Felipe Paulino who took a loss in his last outing. For the season Paulino has allowed 16 hits and seven earned runs while striking out eight over 9.2 innings of work for a 0-1 record and a 6.52 ERA.

The Cleveland Indians fought back several times on Friday but in the end they didn’t have enough as they fell to the White Sox. Asdrubal Cabrera had two RBI’s and Yan Gomes and Mike Aviles each had two hits as the Indians scored six runs on 10 hits. Starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco allowed six hits and five runs while striking out five over 4.2 innings of work to take the loss and fall to 0-2 for the season. For Saturday’s game the Indians start Justin Masterson who doesn’t have a decision yet this season. For the year Masterson has allowed 10 hits and five earned runs while striking out eight over 10.2 innings for a 4.22 ERA.
Chicago is 19-40 as an underdog, 3-8 in their last 11 game three of a series, and 2-7 in their last nine games as a home underdog. Cleveland is 12-5 in their last 17 road games, 20-9 in their last 29 games, and 11-4 in Masterson’s last 15 starts as a favorite. Cleveland is 8-2 in their last 10 games in Chicago.
Masterson is a a solid favorite here and despite the Sox winning the first two games Paulino just hasn’t shown he has the stuff yet this year.
