The Kansas City Royals have been looking solid this season but they looked anything but getting rocked on Saturday. Mike Moustakas had two hits and Alex Gordon and Eric Hosmer each had hits as the Royals scored just one run on five hits. Starting pitcher Bruce Chen just didn’t have his best stuff as he allowed seven hits and six runs while striking out three over 3.2 innings to take the loss and fall to 0-1 on the season. For Saturday’s game the Royals start James Shields who is still looking for his first win of the season. For the year Shields has allowed 10 hits and four runs while striking out nine over 13.1 innings for a 0-1 record and a 2.70 ERA.
Minnesota is 17-36 in their last 53 home games, 9-20 against the AL Central, and 5-16 in their last 21 games two of a series. Kansas City is 36-17 as a favorite, 2-5 in game two of a series, and 18-7 in Shields’ last 25 starts. Kansas City is 7-1 in their last eight games in Minnesota.
The total is at 7.5 and I can see this one staying under but that is just a lean.
I also have a play on the winning side and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
