USA TODAY Sports
The Washington Nationals will look to avoid the sweep on Sunday and leave Atlanta in first place in the NL East. On Saturday the Nats had 11 hits but scored just three runs with Anthony Rendon hitting a home run and Kevin Frandsen adding two hits. Taylor Jordan got the start and took the loss on the mound on Saturday lasting five innings. On Sunday the Nationals start Gio Gonzalez who is 2-0 with a 0.75 ERA in his two starts.
Atlanta is 4-0 as an underdog, 7-3 in their last 10 games, and 1-5 in game three of a series. Washington is 38-13 as a favorite, 33-16 in their last 49 games, and 46-22 in Gonzalez’s last 13 road starts. Washington is 1-6 in their last seven games in Atlanta.
The Braves have consistently hit Gonzalez well and as they are hot and home I like them to give him the same treatment here.
