The Los Angele Angels and the New York mats finish their three game interleague series in Anaheim on Sunday.
The LA Angels got of to nice start in this series by taking Friday’s game but the Mets bounced back on Saturday getting the win. The Angels have once again got off to a disappointing start as they are 506 with one of the heftier payrolls in baseball. The Mets are also at 5-6 and will need to exceed even the highest expectations if they hope to compete with the better teams in the NL East. The Angels are just 1-4 at home this season and the Mets are 302 on the road. For this game the Angels start C.J. Wilson who is 1-1 so far with a 4.61 ERA in his two starts while the Mets counter with Bartolo Colon who is also at 1-1 through two starts with a 2.08 ERA. Both pitchers are coming off of big performances with Wilson allowing four hits and run in his last outing going eight innings and Colon allowing six hits and no runs going seven innings.
USA TODAY Sports
Los Angeles is 5-1 in their last six interleague games, 1-4 in their last five home games, and 5-2 in Wilson’s last seven interleague starts. New York is 4-1 in their last five road games against a team with a losing record, 8-3 as a road underdog, and 1-4 in their last five games following a win.
This looks like a good one but we are getting too big of a price on Colon and with him pitching in the AL West his last few seasons facing the Angels won’t be anything new for him.
