The Texas Ranges and the Houston Astros play out their series in the AL West.
The Texas Rangers and Houston Astros have split the first two games of their series and but they are still the bottom two teams in the AL West. The Rangers won the first game between these two on Friday with the Astros bouncing back for the win on Saturday. The Rangers are two games behind the A’s in the American League West and the Astros are 2.5 games back. The expectations for this season weren’t set too high for the Astros but they should be improved over the past few years while the Rangers are hopeful they can get back to the post season after missing it last season. For Sunday’s game at The Ballpark in Arlington the Rangers start Martin Perez who is 1-0 for the season with a 4.50 ERA while Houston counters with Brett Oberholtzer who is 0-2 with a 4.91 ERA over two starts.
USA TODAY Sports
Texas is 12-1 as a favorite, 10-3 in their last 13 home games, and 9-0 in Perez’s last nine starts against a team with a losing record. Houston is 29-60 following a win, 26-69 in their last 95 games, and 0-6 in Oberholtzers last six starts. Houston is 11-40 in their last 51 meetings of these two.
Texas is a monster favorite here and they deserve to be one and I look for them to get the win here.
