Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks – 7/19/20 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Arizona Diamondbacks and Los Angeles Dodgers meet Sunday night in MLB exhibition action at Dodger Stadium.

The Arizona Diamondbacks quietly won 85 games last year and have to like their chances for an even better showing with the additions of Starling Marte, Kole Calhoun and Madison Bumgarner. With an offense and starting pitching staff that sat in the middle of the league in most major categories, the Diamondbacks have a chance to be a surprise team in this short season. If Bumgarner can stay healthy and return to top tier form, while Robbie Ray, Zac Gallen and Luke Weaver hold down their spots in the rotation, the Diamondbacks would like their chances of being a playoff team when everything is said and done. Taylor Widener gets the ball for the Arizona Diamondbacks. 

The Los Angeles Dodgers are the favorites to win the World Series this season in some shops, as they kept majority of last years squad while adding Mookie Betts, Alex Wood and Blake Treinen. The Dodgers may have the best offense from top to bottom in all of baseball, while the addition of Wood to pair with Clayton Kershaw, Ross Stripling and Julio Urias gives LA one of the top starting pitching staffs. It’s hard to find a weakness with these Los Angeles Dodgers, and while it’s just exhibition games, you can bet everybody will be watching these games closely to see if this team can hit the ground running and live up to expectations with the regular season not far behind. The Los Angeles Dodgers are obviously the better team here and should be favored, but the bottom line here is nobody knows what to expect in the first actual game like setting from these teams and spring training is always a toss up anyway. Guys are rotated in and out of the lineup constantly and there’s like 25 pitches used on any given day. Spring training is very tough to cap under normal circumstances and you can make some nice coin if you lean toward the underdog in a lot of spots.
