The Cleveland Indians and the Toronto Blue Jays face off on Sunday as they close out their series at Progressive Field.
The Cleveland Indians look to avoid being swept at home by the Blue Jays after being shutout on Saturday. Asdrubal Cabrera, Yan Gomes, David Murphy, and Mike Aviles each had a hit but the Indians failed to score as the four hits were all of the offense they had. Starting pitcher Corey Kluber allowed nine hits and five runs while striking out three over 6.2 innings to take the loss and fall to 1-2 for the season. For Sunday’s game the Indians start Carlos Carrasco who is still looking for his first win of the season. For the season Carrasco has allowed 13 hits and nine earned runs while striking out 12 over 10.1 innings for a 0-2 record and a 7.84 ERA.

The Toronto Blue Jays moved to two games over .500 as they continue to chase the Yankees in the AL East. Dioner Navarro had two hits and three RBI’s, Melky Cabrera had two hits, and Jose Bautista and Jose Reyes each had hits and the Blue Jays scored five runs on nine hits. Starting pitcher Mark Buehrle allowed four hits while striking out three over 7.0 scoreless innings to get the win and go to 4-0 for the season. For Sunday’s game the Blue Jays start Brandon Morrow who had a no decision in his last start. For the season Morrow has allowed 16 hits and nine runs while striking out 17 over 14.2 innings for a 1-1 record and a 5.52 ERA.
Cleveland is 8-20 against a team with a winning record, 24-10 in game three of a series, and 4-17 in Carrasco’s last 21 home starts. Toronto is 5-2 as a road underdog, 7-3 against a right-handed starter, and 5-1 in Morrow’s last six starts as a favorite. Toronto is 9-3 in their last 12 games in Cleveland.
I expect it to be bombs away in this one and for the total to soar over and that is my free pick.
I also have a play on the winning side and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
