The Milwaukee Brewers and the San Diego Padres face off on Tuesday at Miller Park for game two of their series.
The Milwaukee Brewers got out to a fast start on Monday and they made it hold up getting the win. Aramis Ramirez hit a home run and Scooter Gennett, Jean Segura, and Elian Herrera each had two hits as the Brewers scored four runs on 11 hits. Starting pitcher Wily Peralta allowed six hits and three runs while striking out six over 6.1 innings to get the win and go to 3-0 for the season and Francisco Rodriguez earned his eighth save. For Monday’s game the Brewers start Yovani Gallardo who has no decisions in each of his last two starts. For the season Gallardo has allowed 20 hits and four runs while striking out 19 over 24.2 innings for a 2-0 record and a 1.46 ERA.

The San Diego Padres battled back against the Brewers on Monday but in he end they came up short taking the loss. Chris Denorfia hit a home run, Yonder Alonso had two hits, and Everth Cabrera had a hit as the Padres scored three runs on seven hits. Starting pitcher Andrew Cashner allowed seven hits and four runs while striking out four over 6.0 innings to take the loss and fall to 2-2 for the season. For Wednesday’s game the Padres start Ian Kennedy who has lost his last two starts. For the season Kennedy has allowed 20 hits and 11 earned runs while striking out 23 over 24 innings for a 1-3 record and a 4.12 ERA.
Milwaukee is 6-1 against a team with a losing record, 21-7 in their last 28 games, and 4-1 in Gallardo’s last five starts. San Diego is 2-6 in their last eight road games, 1-5 in game two of a series, and 4-0 in Kennedy’s last four starts following a team loss. San Diego is 4-2 in their last six games in Milwaukee.
