The Milwaukee Brewers and the San Diego Padres face off on Wednesday at Miller Park for game three of their series.
The Milwaukee Brewers simply could get the winning run across the plate in Tuesday as they had their share of chances losing in extra innings. Scooter Gennett had two hits including a home run, Jonathan Lucroy had two hits, and Carlos Gomez had a hit as the Brewer scored one run on seven hits. Starting pitcher Yovani Gallardo had five hits and run while striking out for over 7.0 innings to not factor in the decision as Alfredo Figaro took the loss. For Wednesday’s game the Brewers start Kyle Lohse who has won his last three starts. For the season Lohse has allowed 20 hits and eight runs while striking out 26 over 27 innings for a 3-1 record and 2.67 ERA.

The San Diego Padres never gave in on Tuesday as they got the win in Milwaukee. Chase headley had two hits including a home run in extra innings, Chris Denofia had three hits, and Seth Smith and Yonder Alonso had hits and the Padres scored two runs on seven hits. Starting pitcher Ian Kennedy allowed four hits and a run while striking out five over 6.0 innings to not factor in the decision as Don Roach got the win and Huston Street earned the save. For Wednesday’s game the Padres start Tyson Ross who has won both of his last two starts. For the season Ross has allowed 20 hits and 12 earned runs while striking out 25 over 25.1 innings for a 2-2 record and a 2.13 ERA.
Milwaukee is 21-8 in their last 29 games, 21-5 in game three of a series, and 4-1 in Lohse’s last five starts. San Diego is 4-1 in game three of a series, 3-6 in their last nine road games, and 1-5 in Ross’ last six road starts.
We have two low ERA guys pitching and this sets up to be a close one as but the play here is Milwaukee.
