Chase Field and the Arizona Diamondbacks backs host game two of their weekday series on Tuesday.
It's no secret Colorado depends on their offense to get things done and if the pitching ever comes around the rest of the National League West could be in a world of hurt. The Rockies didn't need a ton of pitching in Monday's 8-5 decision over Arizona and that's what they got with Franklin Morales giving up four runs on seven hits over five frames which turned out to be a winning effort. The bats totaled 12 hits and walked three times with Troy Tulowitski and Justin Morneau going deep and combining for five RBI's. Tyler Chatwood gets the ball in game two of their series with the Diamondbacks. Chatwood was hit hard in a 12-10 loss to San Francisco in which he allowed five runs on seven hits including three homers.

The Diamondbacks were one of the few teams in 2013 to make a run at the National League West title before fading after the All Star break. If they are to challenge this season it will take a titanic run because this team is struggling in a big way. Things didn't change Monday with the pitching unable to hold up their end of the bargain. Starter Wade Miley was charged with seven runs on ten hits including a pair of long balls over six innings. The offense made a game of it early on with ten hits and three bases on balls with Miguel Montero driving in two and Gerrardo Parra going deep but the pitching let this get out of reach. Michael Bolsinger looks to build on his first career victory when he faces the dangerous offense of Colorado. Bolsinger defeated the Cubs 5-2 last time out with an unearned run scored in 6.2 frames.
I don't know what Bolsinger is going to do in just his third career start so I give Chatwood the edge by default. The Rockies bats are hard to overlook as well so I'll back the visitors for now...
