The Los Angeles Dodgers and Minnesota Twins will play the second game of a doubleheader on Thursday night. The Dodgers won game one, 6-4.
With the win, the Dodgers have still lost five of their last eight games and are only 15-12 on the season after being considered the best team in baseball on Opening Day. While the Dodgers pitching hasn’t been a thing of beauty, the offense has picked up a bit, which includes three homeruns by Adrian Gonzalez in his last five games. The Dodgers pitching has to improve, but that can start with Josh Beckett, who is 0-0 with a 2.45 ERA and has 22 strikeouts in 22 innings. Beckett is also 4-1 with a 3.00 ERA in six career starts against the Twins.

The Twins are just trying to stay afloat, as they’ve lost five of their last nine games and drop to a .500 record with the loss on Wednesday. Of course, it would help if the Twins didn’t allow five or more runs in seven of their last 10 games. The Twins pitching has been absolutely brutal, but has been made up for with hitters such as Trevor Plouffe, who has six RBI in his last four games. Kris Johnson is 0-2 with a 6.10 ERA and has struck out nine batters in 10.1 innings. This will be Johnson’s first career game against the Dodgers.
The Dodgers are 9-24 in their last 33 interleague road games vs. a left-handed starter and 7-1 in their last 8 during game 3 of a series. The Twins are 4-0 in their last 4 during game 3 of a series and 24-58 in their last 82 vs. a team with a winning record. The Dodgers are 1-5 in the last 6 meetings in Minnesota.
No idea really what to expect considering both of these teams play earlier in the day. With that said, I'll take the home team and the plus money.
