The Pittsburgh Pirates and the Toronto Blue Jays face off on Friday for game one of their interleague series at PNC Park.

The Toronto Blue Jays are struggling but they are still very much in the race in the AL East. The Blue Jays are 8-8 on the road, 3-7 in their last 10 games, and 2.5 games back in the AL East race. As a team the Blue Jays are hitting .251 with Melky Cabrera hitting .342, Dioner Navaro hitting .301, and Jose Bautista hitting .292. As a team the Toronto pitching staff has a 4.55 ERA with the starts at 4.33 and the bullpen at 4.90. For game one at Pittsburgh the Blue Jays start Brandon Morrow ho had a loss in his last start. For the season Morrow has allowed 19 hits and 15 earned runs while striking out 24 over 22.1 innings for a 1-2 record and a 6.04 ERA.
Pittsburgh is 6-1 in their last seven interleague games as a favorite, 5-18 in their last 23 games, and 6-2 in Cole’s last eight starts as a favorite. Toronto is 5-2 in game one of a series, 3-6 in their last nine games, and 2-7 in Morrow’s last nine road starts.
The Blue Jays are the better team right now but it is just tough to take them with how bad Morrow has been and with him pitching on the road here.
