The St. Louis Cardinals and Atlanta Braves will play game two of three on Tuesday. The Cardinals won game one, 4-3.
The Cardinals have won three of their last five games and are one game above .500. The Cardinals aren’t much known for their offense this season, but did put together nine hits in Monday’s win and have scored four or more runs in five of their last six games. Yadier Molina has 13 hits in his last 10 games and Matt Carpenter has back-to-back multi-hit games, including two RBI in the first game against the Braves. Taking the mound on Tuesday will be Tyler Lyons, who is 0-2 with a 4.20 ERA and has 14 strikeouts in 15 innings. This will be Lyons first time facing the Braves in his career.

The Braves have now lost seven straight games and are tied with the Washington Nationals for first place in the NL East. It’s a lack of offense that has killed the Braves during this stretch, as they’ve scored one or less runs in five of their last eight games. Justin Upton hasn’t had an RBI in five straight games, and Jason Heyward has just two RBI in his last 10 games. Gavin Floyd can only hope for better run support when he takes the mound for the first time on Tuesday. Floyd pitched in five games last year for the Chicago White Sox and finished 0-4 with a 5.18 ERA. Floyd is 1-1 with a 4.63 ERA in two career starts against the Cardinals.
The Cardinals are 0-4 in Lyons' last 4 road starts and 1-7 in Lyons' last 8 starts. The Braves are 0-5 in their last 5 games as a favorite and 76-34 in their last 110 home games. The Cardinals are 1-5 in the last 6 meetings in Atlanta.
Sorry, there's just no way you can take the Braves right now with the way they're playing. It also doesn't help that Floyd is making his first start of the season, a pitcher who has never exactly been great. I like the Cardinals to find another way to win and like them even more at the cheap price.
