The Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Cubs face on Wednesday in the Crosstown Classic as the series moves to US Cellular field.
The Chicago White Sox took the first two games of their series with the Cubs winning at Wrigley on Monday and Tuesday. Gordon Beckham had four hits including a home run, Moises Sierra had four hits, and Jose Abreu had one hit as the White Sox scored five runs on 11 hits. Starting pitcher Hector Noesi allowed four hits and a run while striking out six over 5.0 innings for a no decision as Zach Putnam got the win. For Wednesday game the White Sox start John Danks who is coming off of his worst outing this season. For the season Danks has allowed 37 hits and 20 runs while striking out 21 over 36 innings for a 2-2 record and 5.00 ERA.

The Chicago Cubs are having a trying year as they don’t even look interested in much of the time. Emilio Bonifacio, Anthony Rizzo, and Stalin Castro each had hits as the Cubs scored one run on four hits. Starting pitcher Edwin Jackson allowed six hits and a run to not factor in the decision when Neil Ramirez took the loss. For Wednesday’s game at The Cell the White Sox start Travis Wood who has won two fo his last three starts. For the season Wood has allowed 40 hits while striking out 37 over 37.2 innings for a 2-3 record and a 3.35 ERA.
The White Sox are 4-0 in game three of a series, 5-11 in their last 16 games against a right-handed starter, and 2-8 in Danks’ last 10 home starts. The Cubs are 4-1 in game two of a series, 4-1 after losing the first two games of a series, and 11-31 as an underdog.The Cubs have won four of their last five games at US Cellular Field.
Danks traditionally owns the Cubs and this year it should be more of the same as the White Sox win and cover.
