The Philadelphia Phillies head north of the border to take the field with the Toronto Blue Jays.
Philadelphia is last in the National League East even though they are only one game below .500 which says the division is tough right now. The Phillies rallied from a 5-0 hole with a five run 5th only to lose 6-5 in ten innings. Cole Hamels struggled through six frames on ten hits including a pair of homers before Antonio Bastardo absorbed the loss with a run allowed in the 9th. The offense produced ten hits with Cody Ashe connecting on a 5th inning grand slam but the bats couldn't push across anything else. Cliff Lee takes the mound at the suddenly hot hitting Blue Jays on Wednesday. Lee threw the ball well last time out in a 5-3 defeat to Washington with one earned run allowed on four hits over seven innings.

Toronto needs to string the wins together to compete in the American League East and have one started with their win at Philadelphia giving then three consecutive victories. It was all offense Tuesday with Drew Hutchinson allowing all five runs in eight innings with a 5th inning grand slam being his lone bad inning. Fortunately the bats pounded out 12 hits and walked three times with Edwin Encarnacion and Colby Rasmus going deep and driving in three runs with Juan Francisco knocking in two more. Veteran Mark Buehrle toes the rubber at the Rogers Centre looking to continue his strong start to 2014. Buehrle is 5-1 in six outings with a 2.25 ERA covering 40 innings pitched.
Cliff Lee is one of the best in the business when he gets going while Buehrle has generally been lights out. I'm going with the Blue Jays who might be on their way to a hot streak...
