The Houston Astros and Baltimore Orioles will play game one of three on Friday night.
Nothing has changed with the Astros, as they’re still arguably the worst team in all of baseball at 11-24. The Astros have lost seven of their last nine games and their pitching has been terrible. The Astros have allowed four or more runs in 25 of their first 35 games this season. Of course, the Astros offense isn’t much better as they’ve struck out 305 times already and Jose Altuve is the only player with 30 or more hits. Taking the mound Friday is Scott Feldman, who is fresh off the DL and is 2-1 with a 1.69 ERA and has nine strikeouts in 26.2 innings. Feldman is 4-1 with a 3.86 ERA in six career starts against the Orioles.

The Orioles just swept the Tampa Bay Rays and have won six of their last seven games overall. The Orioles pitching has been real shaky all season, but has allowed three or less runs in four of their last six games. Offensively, the Orioles are putting runs on the board a little more consistently. Matt Wieters has eight RBI in his last 10 games and Nelson Cruz has three homers in his last nine. Starting Friday is Wei-Yin Chen, who is 3-2 with a 4.24 ERA and has 28 strikeouts in 34 innings. This is Chen’s second career start against the Astros.
The Astros are 3-12 in their last 15 during game 1 of a series and 10-42 in their last 52 vs. a team with a winning record. The Orioles are 10-4 in Chen's last 14 home starts and 7-3 in Chen's last 10 starts with 5 days of rest. The Astros are 1-8 in the last 9 meetings in Baltimore.
I may be taking a shot in the dark with this pick, but Feldman is a pretty solid pitcher when healthy. He's coming off the DL and hasn't pitched in over a month, but it's hard to argue with his production when on the field. The Orioles have been hot as of late, but they've also been inconsistent at times as well.
Give me Houston and the insane value.
