The battle for supremacy in the National League West begins when San Francisco visits Coors Field Tuesday.
San Francisco didn't hit or pitch that well in dropping two of three to visiting Miami over the weekend but did get a few clutch hits and stellar work on the mound in salvaging the series finale' 4-1 Sunday. Ryan Vogelsong evened his record at 2-2 with a five hit shutout over seven innings while wiffing six. The Giants attack managed seven hits and walked twice with Pablo Sandoval clubbing his third hmer of the season with three others driving in runs. Left hander Madison Bumarner takes the ball in game number one at Coors Field. Bumgarner has won three in a row where he has posted a 2.37 ERA and 0.89 WHIP over 19 innings of work.

Colorado currently sits in second behind the Giants in the National League West although the last few weeks have left them losing more then winning. The Rockies defeated San Diego 8-6 in ten innings Sunday but have still lost six of nine and can't afford slides of any kind with San Francisco capable of taking advantage. Juan Nicasio allowed four runs over six frames and was inline for the win before LaTroy Hawkins was tagged for a tying two run homer in the 9th. Justin Morneau returned the favor when he crushed a two run walkoff bomb in the bottom of the 10th. Corey Dickerson also clubbed a two run homer and Troy Tulowitzki went solo while Charlie Blackmon singled in two more. The Rockies send Franklin Morales to the hill to open the series with NL West leading San Francisco. Morales has struggled the last three times out with 13 runs plated on 23 hits in 16 innings.
Bumgarner lost this match up to Morales 2-1 and given the way the latter has been struggling I am looking at San Francisco...
