The Boston Red Sox and the Toronto Blue Jays face off on Wednesday at Fenway Park as they continue their AL East series.

The Boston Red Sox aren’t quite the same team the were a year ago and we saw further evidence of it again on Tuesday as they fell to the Blue Jays. Starting pitcher Felix Doubront allowed five hits and five runs over 4.0 innings to take the loss and fall to 2-4 for the season. Boston Red Sox vs. Toronto Blue Jays MLB Pick, Odds, Prediction 5/21/14

The Toronto Blue Jays are looking to be contenders in the AL East this season and we saw they have the potential to do that with their win over the Sox on Tuesday. Melky Cabrera had four hits including a home run, Edwin Encarnacion had two home runs, and Erik KratZ hit a home run as the Blue Jays scored seven runs on 11 hits. Starting pitcher J.A. Happ allowed seven hits and four runs while striking out six over 5.0 innings to get the win and go to 3-1 for the season and Casey Janssen earned his fourth save. For Wednesday’s game the Blue Jays start Drew Hutchison who won on the road in his last start. For the season Hutchison has allowed 47 hits and 22 earned runs while striking out 55 over 54.1 innings for a 2-3 record and 3.64 ERA.

Boston is 0-5 in their last five games, 9-2 in game two of a series, and 20-8 in Buchholz’s last 28 starts. Toronto is 6-1 in their last seven road games, 6-2 in their last eight games, and 2-4 against the AL East. Toronto is 3-5 in their last eight games in Boston.

The total is at nine for this one but I still have it going over. My stronger play is on the winning side and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
