The Los Angeles Angels look to stay within striking distance of first in the AL West with an other win over Houston.
I know I say Houston looks more competitive then they have in recent years but I don't know if we'll see a dramatic difference in the win column. Tuesday looked like it might be a decent battle with starter Scott Feldman throwing the ball well but he struggled and the bats followed suit in a 9-3 road loss to the Angels. Feldman was charged with eight runs but only three were earned over four frames. The Astros mustered nine hits with George Springer, Jason Castro and Matt Dominguez driving in runs. Collin McHugh is scheduled to be on the bump to contain the dangerous bats of the Angels. McHugh has struggled with consistency as he absorbed a 7-2 loss versus the White Sox last time out with four runs scored in 5.1 frames.

The Angels are playing well as they sit in the second spot in the American League West but the way Oakland is winning it is almost impossible to make up ground. The Angels are doing their best to keep the A's within reach and for another day it was mission accomplished after routing Houston. Tyler Skaggs held the Astros to a run on five hits over seven innings which was overkill. The bats pounded out 12 hits and walked five times with David Freese and Mike Trout combining for seven RBI's with a couple of Houston errors helping the cause. Ace Jered Weaver takes the ball looking to get back in the win column following a 3-0 loss to Tampa Bay. Weaver gave up two runs on three hits and three walks covering seven innings of work.
Not much to say with Weaver on the mound and throwing well. That doesn't mean the Angels win but I'm still going with them...
