The Toronto Blue Jays will look to sweep the Boston Red Sox when they meet again on Thursday afternoon.
The Blue Jays have won seven of their last nine games and are now three games above a .500 record. The Blue Jays continue to tear the cover off the ball, scoring at least four runs in 10 of their last 15 games. Edwin Encaracion has five homeruns in his last three games and Melky Cabrera has five hits in this series. Pitching wise, the Blue Jays have allowed more than four runs just once in their last six games. Taking the mound Thursday is Mark Buehrle, who is 7-1 with a 2.11 ERA and has 35 strikeouts in 59.2 innings. Buehrle is 8-10 with a 4.55 ERA in 24 career starts against the Red Sox.

The Red Sox are playing their worst baseball of the season, losing six straight and now losing their third straight series. While the Red Sox pitching has allowed six or more runs in four straight games, the offense isn’t doing much to make up for the difference. David Ortiz is hitless in his last three games and they’ve scored three or less runs in four of those six losses. Getting the nod will be Jon Lester, who is 4-5 with a 2.67 ERA and has 73 strikeouts in 60.2 innings. Lester is 15-8 with a 3.61 ERA in 29 career starts against the Blue Jays.
The Blue Jays are 4-0 in Buehrle's last 4 starts and 5-0 in Buehrle's last 5 road starts. The Red Sox are 14-6 in Lester's last 20 starts as a home favorite and 6-2 in Lester's last 8 starts with 5 days of rest. The Red Sox are 7-1 in Lester's last 8 home starts vs. Blue Jays.
There's great value in the Blue Jays with the way they've been playing, but I can't bet against Lester at Fenway Park. He's been money all season and has carved the Blue Jays up in his career. I'll take the Sox for the cheap price.
