The Kansas City Royals head to the west coast to face the Los Angeles Angels for the first time in 2014.
Kansas City would like nothing better then to go on a heater and close the gap between themselves and Detroit in the American League Central. They took a step towards that goal with a 3-1 victory over the visiting White Sox on Wednesday behind great starting pitching and a few clutch hits. Jeremy Guthrie contained a dangerous Chicago offense with the lone run plated on three hits and a pair of BB in seven innings. The Royals did their damage on eight hits with Norichika Aoki, Billy Butler and Danny Valencia driving in runs. The game one start goes to Danny Duffy who has been throwingthe ball well thus far. Duffy owns a 2-3 record with a 1.42 ERA and 0.83 WHIP with only eleven hits allowed in 25.1 innings.

Relative to past years the Angels are off to a pretty good start at six games above .500 that at least keeps Oakland from walking away with the American League West. Los Angeles has won seven of ten following Wedneday's tough 2-1 decision over a stuborn Houston squad. The offense has been strong during the recent hot streak but it was the right arm of Jered Weaver that carried the team Wednesday. Weaver went the distance with a two hitter and a solo homer the source of the Astros offense. The LAA only managed four hits and two walks with Erick Aybar rapping an RBI hit and Albert Pujols slamming his 13 th homer. Veteran left hander CJ Wilson will be on the bump to face Kansas City in game one of thei series. Wilson is coming in off his best outing of the year in a 6-0 victory over Tampa Bay where he tossed a complete game.
I am leaning Angels with Wilson because Duffy tends to not go deep in to games and the Angels have been hitting...
