San Francisco Giants vs. Minnesota Twins MLB Pick, Odds, Prediction 5/23/14

The Minnesota Twins are quietly putting together a solid start to the season and while the Tigers lead the AL Central, the Twins are far from out of the post season. The Twins are 11-10 on the road, 7-3 in their last 10 games, and they have won their last two games. As a team the Twins are hitting .248 with Kurt Suzuki hitting .303, Joe Mauer hitting .283, and Jason Kubel and Trevor Plouffe hitting .257. As a team the Twins pitching staff has an ERA of 4.51 with the starters at 5.00 and the bullpen at 3.70. For game one against the Giants the Twins start Kyle Gibson who is coming off of a win that ended a personal three decision losing streak. For the season Gibson has allowed 46 hits and 21 earned runs while striking out 21 over 45 innings for a 4-3 record and a 4.20 ERA.

San Francisco is 8-3 in their last 11 home games against a team with a winning record, 18-8 in their last 26 games overall, and 12-4 in Lincecum’s last 16 starts. Minnesota is 5-1 in their last six games, 3-8 following an off day, and 2-7 in their last nine interleague games. Minnesota is 1-4 in their last five games.

We should see some scoring in this one and I like the over and that is my free pick. My stronger play is on the winning side and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
