The Houston Astros and Seattle Mariners will play game two on Friday night at Safeco Field.
Right when it looked like the Astros were putting things together a little bit, they’ve lost three straight games and are back to 14 games below a .500 record. Of course, much of these issues for the Astros come on the offensive end, as they’ve scored a combined five runs in those three games. The Astros are 27th in the league in runs scored and are 1-25 when scoring three or less runs. Jose Altuve, however, does have 18 hits in his last 10 games. Getting the ball will be Brad Peacock, who is 1-4 with a 5.20 ERA and has 44 strikeouts in 45 innings. Peacock is 2-2 with a 6.92 ERA in five career starts against the Mariners.

The Mariners are back to being a .500 ball club with three wins in their last four games. It’s amazing what happens when the Mariners score runs, as they’re 19-5 when scoring more than three runs, something they’ve done twice in their last four games. Robinson Cano has nine RBI in as many games and Kyle Seager has gotten on base at least once in his last 10 games. The Mariners may not need much run support with Felix Hernandez on the mound, as he’s 5-1 with a 2.94 ERA and has 65 strikeouts in 67.1 innings. Hernandez is 2-2 with a 2.40 ERA in five career starts against the Astros.
The Astros are 2-6 in Peacock's last 8 starts and 1-6 in Peacock's last 7 starts as an underdog. The Mariners are 2-5 in Hernandez's last 7 home starts and 1-4 in Hernandez's last 5 starts vs. American League West.
The chalk in this game is insane, which is why I'm siding with the over. Peacock is going to get rattled a bit and the over is 4-0 in Hernandez's last 4 starts vs. Astros as well as 3-0-1 in the last 4 meetings between these two teams.
