AT&T Park and the San Francisco Giants host the Minnesota Twins in the second game of the series.
Minnesota is one of a number of surprise teams as they currently own second in the American League Central after being a non factor the past several years. The Twins took one on the chin Friday in a 6-2 defeat at San Francisco but still have won seven of eleven. The generally dependable offense struggled and the bats followed suit. Kyle Gibson gave up five early runs and the Twins never recovered. The bats managed seven hits and walked seven times but missed out on the clutch hit with Chris Parmelee and Joe Mauer knocking in runs. Ricky Nolasco looks to get in the win column when he squares off with San Francisco on the road. Nolasco was charged with three runs on six hits and three free passes in five innings of a 6-2 defeat to Seattle.

San Francisco has been playing solid baseball from day one and haven't really suffered through a long dry spell because they have both the pitching and hitting to win on any given day. Both contributed to Friday's win which was number seven in eleven. Tim Lincecum improved to 4-3 with both runs plated on on five hits and six walks over six innings as he managed to get out of several tight spots. Pablo Sandoval clubbed a three run homer in the first and Brandon Hicks smacked a two run bomb to lead a six hit, seven walk attack. San Francisco is scheduled to send Ryan Vogelsong to the bump who is trying to bounce back from a poor 2013. On the season Vogelsong is 2-2 with a 3.62 ERA in nine starts over 49.2 frames.
Samuel Deduno might be in for Nolasco which has me looking at Vogelsong on the mound. Both teams are hot but I like the Giants bats also...
