The Los Angeles Angels battle the Seattle Mariners in an American League West tilt.
The Angels didn't get off to a horrible start which is good fortune considering how good Oakland has been. The good news for Los Angeles is they have won seven of ten after knocking off Seattle 6-4 but the bad news is the A's are winning as well. The LAA staked Jered Weaver to a 3-0 lead and although it wasn't vintage Weaver it was a solid effort with three runs plated over six frames to improve to 6-3. An eleven hit attack produced a long ball and two RBI's off the bat of CJ Con with Mike Trout driving in his 35th. The Angels turn to lefty CJ Wilson to control the Mariners offense Wednesday. Wilson is one reason the Angels are hanging tough in the West with a 6-3 record and 3.00 ERA in ten outings.

If you watch the Mariners you know they haven't enjoyed a great deal of success over the years. Having said that the M's are doing well as they hover around the .500 mark and are well within striking distance of the second place Angels. The Mariners fell short on the mound and at the plate Tuesday with starter Roenis Elias charged with five runs on eight hits through 6.1 innings to fall to 3-4. The Mariners had their share of runners on nine hits and six base on balls with Justin Smoak connecting on his 7th bomb while Dustin Ackley scored twice. Felix Hernandez is scheduled to face the dangerous offense of the Angels on Wednesday night. Hernandez has been in Cy Young form with a 6-1 mark and 2.75 ERA over eleven starts.
Normally when you see King Felix as a reasonable favorite it's time to jump all over it. Facing Wilson and the surging Angels is not going to be a walk in the park but right now I'm going with the King...
