The Cleveland Indians and the Colorado Rockies face off on Saturday in Cleveland for game two of their interleague series.
The Cleveland Indians have had a rough season thus far but they took care of business on Friday getting the win against the Rockies. Asdrubal Cabrera hit a home run and Michael Bourn, Jason Kipnis, and Lonnie Chisenhall each had two hits as the Indians scored five runs on 10 hits. Starting pitcher Corey Kluber allowed five hits and two runs while striking out 12 over 7.1 innings to get the win and go to 6-3 for the season and Cody Allen earned his second save. For Saturday’s game the Indians start Trevor Bauer who has lost two of his last three starts. For the season Bauer has allowed 17 hits and seven earned runs while striking out 21 over 16.1 innings for a 1-2 record and a 3.86 ERA.

The Colorado Rockies continue to struggle on the road this season as they lost Friday in Cleveland. Carlos Gonzalez hit a home run and Charlie Blackmon and Justin Morneau each had hits as the Rockies scored two runs on five hits. Starting pitcher Juan Nicasio allowed nine hits and five runs while striking out two over 4.2 innings to take the loss and fall to 5-3 for the season. For Saturday’s game the Rockies start Francisco Morales who has lost his last three decisions. For the season Morales has allowed 65 hits and 36 earned runs while striking out 40 over 57.1 innings for a 3-4 record and a 5.65 ERA.
Cleveland is 5-0 in their last five home games, 7-2 against a team with a winning record, and 2-4 in their last six games. Colorado is 27-56 in their last 83 road games, 1-5 as an underdog, and 11-5 in Morales last 16 starts as an underdog. Colorado is 2-8 in their last 10 games in Cleveland.
This is a close one but I am going to go with the Indians here playing the Rockies poor road performance angle.
