The Seattle Mariners stay on the east coast when they head to Turner Field to battle the Atlanta Braves.
Seattle was a team that wasn't given much thought over the past several years but I don't think anybody is looking past them in 2014. The Mariners probably won't win the American League West but they will make some noise. They certainly made some noise in a 10-2 rout of the Yankees with Felix Hernandez allowing both runs on eight hits over seven frames while recording eight strikeouts to bring his record to 8-1. The offense had a field day on 12 hits and three walks with Michael Saunders and Kyle Seager going deep and driving in threeruns each with Brad Miller rapping a two run single. The Mariners hand the ball to Erasmo Ramirez for his first start since May 7th. Ramirez has been up and down in six starts in 2014 with a 1-4 record and an ERA of six covering 30 innings pitched.

The Braves sit atop the National League East for now as their lead is far from secure with Miami and Washington not far out of the running. Atlanta can be very streaky and have to win as many games as possible when hot and are in the midst of a three game winning streak after sweeping Miami over the weekend. Aaron Harang pitched his team past the Marlins 4-2 on Sunday with both runs given up over 6.2 frames which the offense supported with a nine hit attack. Evan Gattis was the hero with a two run bomb in the 9th winning it. The Braves lean on right hander Gavin Floyd to pitch the team past the visiting Mariners on Tuesday. Floyd has been outstanding despite an 0-2 record with a 2.37 ERA in five starts.
Seattle has a shot if Ramirez has a good night but that's asking a lot because he hasn't been very good. I just won't lay the huge chalk against a dangerous squad. Having said that this is a pick that is more lean then pick and not something I would play...
