The San Francisco Giants continue their series with the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday.
San Francisco has not only looked completely recovered from a dismal 2013 they look like the best team in the game. Even though the Giants were easily handled 8-3 by Cincinnati on Tuesday they have still won eight of eleven to sit atop the National League West. Tim Lincecum struggled early with all eight runs given up on six hits and a trio of BB over 4.1 innings. The generally potent attack was held to five hits with Hunter Pence logging three of them including a solo jack. Ryan Vogelsong gets the call to the mound to face the suddenly hot Cincinnati bats. Vogelsong is hoping to continue his rebound from a poor 2013 with his 3.45 ERA over eleven outings.

Cincinnati has yet to get untracked from a slow start but the signs have been positive over the last week that change might be in the air. The Reds offense has suddenly come to life in winning four straight and five of six after routing San Francisco Tuesday. Starter Homer Bailey didn't need all the help with the three runs scored on five hits and a free pass while whiffing seven through six innings. The Reds totaled eight hits and four walks with Devin Mesoraco slamming a two run homer while Brandon Phillips and Jay Bruce knocking in a pair of runs each. Left hander Tony Cingrani toes the rubber looking to rebound from three consecutive defeats when he faces San Francisco. Cingrani dropped a 4-0 decision at Arizona last time out with three runs plated over five frames.
With the way both teams are hitting and scoring I am tempted to back the over. Right now I'll take San Francisco at plus money and sleep on it...
