The Minnesota Twins and the Milwaukee Brewers face off on Thursday in Minnesota as they close out their series.
The Minnesota Twins Followed up Tuesday win over the Brewers with a win on Wednesday at home. Oswaldo Arcia had two hits including a home run and Brian Dozier, Josh Willingham, and Kurt Suzuki each had two hits as the Twins scored six runs on 10 hits. Starting pitcher Ricky Nolasco allowed six hits and four runs while striking out seven over 7.0 innings to get the win and go to 4-5 for the season and Glen Perkins earned his 16th save. For Thursday’s game the Twins start Kevin Correia who has lost three of his last four decisions. For the season Correia has allowed 79 hits and 40 earned runs while striking out 34 over 61.1 innings for a 2-6 record and a 5.87 ERA.

The Milwaukee Brewers lost a game to the pack in the NL Central as they lost on Wednesday at Target Field. Aramis Ramirez had three hits including a home run, Mark Reynolds had two hits, and Carlos Gomez added a hit as the Brewers scored four runs on six hits. Starting pitcher Marco Estrada allowed six hits and four runs while striking out four over 6.0 innings to not get a decision as Rob Wooten took the loss to fall to 1-3 for the season. For Thursday’s game the Brewers start Wily Peralta who has lost his last three starts. For the season Peralta has allowed 68 hits and 21 earned runs while striking out 54 over 69.1 innings for a 4-5 record and a 2.73 ERA.
Minnesota is 2-4 in their last six interleague games, 7-1 against the NL Central, and 6-22 in Correia’s last 28 starts. Milwaukee is 5-3 in their last eight games, 7-3 as a road favorite, and 0-5 in Peralta’s last five starts. Milwaukee is 1-7 in the last eight meetings of these two.
