The Texas Rangers and the Baltimore Orioles face off on Thursday in Arlington as they close out their series.
The Texas Rangers rallied to tie up their game with the Orioles on Thursday only to lose the lead once again and lose the game. Adrian Beltre hit two home runs, Luis Sardinas had three hits, and Alex Rios had two hits as the Rangers scored five runs on 11 hits. Startig pitcher Nicholas Martinez allowed nine hits and six runs, four earned, while striking out one over 5.1 innings to take the loss and fall to 1-2 fro the season. For Thursday’s game the Rangers start Colby Lewis who has lost two of his last three starts. For the season Lewis has allowed 68 hits and 29 earned runs while striking out 42 over 48 innings for a 4-4 record and a 5.44 ERA.

The Baltimore Orioles battled for the full nine innings on Wednesday getting the win in Texas against the Rangers. Nick Marakakis and Chris Davis each hit home runs and Nelson Cruz had three hits as the Orioles scored six runs on 13 hits. Starting pitcher Bud Norris allowed six hits and five runs while striking out five over 5.0 innings to get the win and go to 4-5 fro the season and Zach Briton earned his fifth save. For Thursday’s game the Orioles start Chris Tillman who has won his last two decisions. For the season Tillman has allowed 69 hits and 36 earned runs while striking out 54 over 70 innings for a 5-2 record and a 4.63 ERA.
Texas is 4-0 in game three of a series, 2-7 in their first nine home games, and 1-4 in Lewis’ last five home starts. Baltimore is 16-7 against the AL West, 1-5 in game three of a series, and 22-8 in Tillman’s last 30 road starts. Baltimore has won their last seven games against Texas.
