The Chicago White Sox look to even their series with a win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Saturday night action.
The White Sox are one of the surprise teams as they look much improved from the team they put on the field in 2013. The offense has slowed since the beginning of the year but the pitching has stepped it up and are carrying the load. Having said that, the pitching struggled throughout in an 8-4 loss to the Angels Friday with Anthony Rienzo getting tagged for seven runs on nine hits over 3.2 innings to take the loss. The offense received a big night from Adam Dunn who homered and drove in three with Alejandro De Aza smacking a solo shot. Ace lefty Chris Sale looks to continue his sizzling work on the mound when he faces the Angels Saturday. Since coming off the disabled list Sale has gone 2-0 with a 0.50 ERA.

The Angels were battling Oakland for first in the American League West just this past week but getting swept by their rivals followed by a poor series in Houston dropped them to third in the division. The Angels needed to kick off the series with the White Sox on a positive note and did just that with both the arms and bats coming up big. Jered Weaver picked up the win with a pair of runs plated over six frames while the offense pounded out eleven hits with a five run 4th ending it from a competitive stand point. Kole Calhoun homered and doubled with three RBI's while Albert Pujols went solo with CJ Cron doubling in two more. Matt Shoemaker makes his 5th start of 2014 when he takes the bump versus the White Sox for the first time in his career. Shoemaker is 3-1 with a 4.03 ERA in 29 innings of work.
While Shoemaker has been very respectable Sale has been lights out. I' not overly confident with the way Chicago is hitting but the way their left hander is throwing a few runs might be enough...
